Empakaai Crater

Empakaai crater is in Ngorongoro conservation area it is  40 km north  – east of the well known Ngorongoro crater. The caldera is about   6 km wide and nearly half of its floor is covered by a lake the water in the lake is alkaline and the depth of the lake is about  85 m. the steep walls of the caldera are forested and rise in some places to almost  300m above the floor.

Empakaai crater is one of the beautiful places in the Ngorongoro conservation area to do a nature walk where visitors can enjoy stunning scenery of the crater and magnificent view of Lake Empakaai fully of flamingoes, the lesser and the greater ones.

It worth to visit for nature walk experiences!.
