Machame Route 9 -Days -8 Nights

Day 1- Arrival – Arusha.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro international airport as per your flight arrival time. Met by a representative from wonder routes adventure then drive  to your hotel for dinner and overnight at Mount Meru Game Lodge.

 Day 2-Arusha – Machame Hut.

After morning breakfast then depart along with trekking team (professional licensed mountain guide, cook and porters) to Machame gate for entry formalities.

After luggage weighing and clearance with formalities, then commence trekking from Machame gate to Machame Hut. The height here is about 1800 3000m. This takes approximately 6-7 hours trekking dinner and overnight at Machame Hut.

 Day 3 -Machame Hut – Shira 1

After morning breakfast leave Machame Hut to Shira 1 which takes about 4-5 hours. Dinner and overnight at Shira 1 Hut.

 Day 4 -Shira 1 – Barranco Hut

Breakfast in the morning, and then start leaving Shira 1 to Barranco hut with picnic lunch boxes. Stop at lava camp for acclimatization then proceed to Barranco Hut for dinner and overnight, the trek takes about 6-7 hours. Dinner and overnight at Barranco Hut.

Day 5 – Barranco  – Karanga

Leave Barranco Hut after breakfast to Karanga hut of which the trekking distance is approximately 3-4 hours dinner and overnight at Karanga hut.

   Day  6- Karanga – Barafu

Morning breakfast then leave Karanga hut with picnic lunch boxes. The distance is about  3-4 hours. After lunch take a brief  rest while reserving energy . For trek to the summit dinner and overnight at Barafu hut.

Day 7-    Barafu – Uhuru Peak

At midnight after taking a cup of coffee and light preparations, then commerce the trek to the summit the distance which takes between  6-7 hours. After exploration of the area, photo, and signing at the highest peak of Africa then start descending to Barafu hut, for hot lunch. After some brief rest start descending to Mwika  Hut for dinner and overnight.

 Day  8- Mwika Hut – Mweka Gate.

After morning breakfast leave Mwika hut to Mwika gate for clearance and after being awarded certificate as  a sign of conquering the highest peak in Arusha then depart to Mount Meru Game Lodge for dinner and overnight.

 Day  -9  Departure .

After breakfast leave to Kilimanjaro international airport to catch your flight back home.
